PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP - Over the last year our pastors along with some lay leaders of our church joined with other congregations to participate in a year-long stewardship program by the Texas Methodist Foundation to learn how to foster healthy, significant, and effective discipleship practices in the local church. The end-product of this process is our Pathway to Discipleship! Initiative. The purpose of Pathway is to provide practical information and instruction to deepen the spiritual life of the members of Tyler Street Church and to empower and encourage them into faithful, joyful, and fruitful discipleship.PROJECT HOPE is a holistic ministry that helps people look at all aspects of their lives. Together families and coaches focus on these 7 areas: family, faith, education, career, budget, health and personal issues. Together our goal is to break the cycle of poverty and help families be healthy, happy stronger Christians. We started over 3 years ago and have seen growth within ourselves, determination, happiness and successes. You may say, how can I help? Do I need something special? We need people willing to be coaches. A coach will receive some training, have some back up help when they need it and God watching over them. If you have about an hour a week to encourage and pray with someone else or know how to budget and are willing to guide someone in that area God needs you to volunteer to help his people. If you are interested, please contact Kathy Bennett at email@example.com.MOMMIES IN NEED - provides in-home childcare to stay-at-home parents going through a health crisis. Check out their website at www.mommiesinneed.orgBUY A BRICK - We also need to extend the renovation work to the courtyard and entryway of Anderson Hall. The plan is to replace the brick planter with a courtyard of brick pavers, each engraved with the name of the person the brick was given in honor or memory of. The funds raised will be used to renovate the church office. Our church office, a front door for so many people, really needs to be refreshed to be more welcoming, more open and more reflective of our congregation. The forms are in your Sunday School Class, at the back of the sanctuary, in the foyer or in the church office. Completed forms may be sent to the church office, placed in the offering plate, or faxed to the church office at 214-946-8126.
